No it is not well known. Most people believe the Japanese were close to surrender.

If I were the parents of any one of the US soliders that died because we decided to continue a ground assault rather than ending the war with the atomic bombs... I'd forever curse your failure as a leader.

US citizens come FIRST before enemy nations in a war.

Really? I have seen no credible historian who takes this position.

My grandfather was slated to command an artillery regiment in Operation Olympic. He told me many times that he expected to die.
