I may be out there doing the half for a training day. I'm trying to talk my wife into doing it since Houston was cancelled.

It looks like they're capping the combined entries @ 600 HM and Full, so y'all may want to decide quick. I can see alot of people who were training for La. making the change since it's the same day and (relatively) close geographically. Do you know anything about the course topography? It looks to be near or at U of H Sugarland? I'm assuming pancake flat? It looks to be a 13.1 mile loop X 2.

Flat. Just some slight inclines and downs like maybe 2-3 on the course out and back. Nothing crazy or exciting either. Not many come out along the course.

Welp, my fitness appears to be in the tank at the worst possible time. 2nd week of 3 week taper for Sugar Land Marathon on 1/17. My legs are dead and everything feels hard, HR through the roof, etc. Not good. It feels like I'm trying to get acclimated in the middle of August or something. Had a bad stomach bug for most of last week and the guy who works next to me tested positive for COVID recently, so not sure if I got a case of that or what. I may go get a test tomorrow to rule that out. Good news is I took vacation all next week leading up to the race, so I should be able to get a ton of rest/recovery in.

Just not sure if these tempo/anaerobic efforts are doing me more harm than good at this point. I seem to have lost the ability to get in an aerobic session.
