I had a tremendous eight miles on Saturday and a decent six miles yesterday. Other than a little left leg shin splints yesterday, nothing felt out of whack.
However, today, I had significant left leg shin splints the entire six miles. Furthermore, favoring my left leg and running gingerly on it made me land harder on my right. Now my right knee feels tight and a bit stiff. I've also been picking up some odd, stinging pain in my left hip. It's somewhat jolting and happens a few times early in the run but goes away. The hip pain makes me feel like something is about to slip out of place.
Is right now when I'm supposed to listen to my body and take a day off? I have two rest days coming up, but I don't want to miss my four-miler tomorrow. I don't want to be a puss, but got dang my leg was bothering me. Thanks for all y'all's help.

Yes. Just shuffle your upcoming runs around to allow you rest tomorrow. Then, try a recovery run on Thursday and see how you feel. It can take shin splints days to get better, and if you keep running on them you could end up sidelined for a week or two. You aren’t training for a race right now, so there’s no reason to risk it.
