My beanie is a must on my bald head. Unless it's in the 20s or colder, I usually have to take it off after a few miles though. I use a balaclava/hood combo when it's below 10 degrees. It keeps most of my face covered, but I can easily pull it down below my nose and mouth as needed when I get too warm.

Marathon is in one week. I should have a strong showing and should qualify for all the majors baring a catastrophe. I know at least one guy that’s going to be in this race that’s going to whip my arse. Dude has the talent for sure and is a low 4 minute miler and 15 min 5k, sub 117 for half all on 25-35 mpw. Can’t compete with that no matter how many miles I run, but I also shouldn’t be expecting to win my first marathon either.

Been really struggling with confidence lately even though I know the work I’ve put in, and only have been doing this for 2 years has reaped huge dividends. I’ve quickly become among the fastest in my age group regionally and am very thankful.

I know I’m at least another year off for a major breakthrough or plateau I just am running out of patience even though I shouldn’t be.

I know someone like me bitching about talent and being unsatisfied with my performance is petty, I just needed to vent. Also, this marathon training block can take a high hard one; so boring.

TLDR: Fast guy is sad because he isn’t as talented as others and wished he didn’t have to work so hard. Is being a babyback bitch.

Cheers.
