So yesterday was cadence / speed work... I hate speed work, I can go out and run at a 9:00 pace for 13+ miles but the second I start running sub-8:00 my body just wants me to quit instantly. Gotta keep working on it, ended up with a PR on 1 Mile & 5K yesterday afternoon.

That means all of my PRs are from 2023 (400m, 1k, 1 mile, 2 mile, 5k, 10k, & Half Marathon; still haven't done a Marathon, that will be in late April) - not bad for having an 8 month old that had to have Open Heart Surgery at 5 Months (and a 4 year old...)

So since this is a Running Log / Training Thread:

I'm training for the Rock 'n Roll in Nashville on the 22nd of April

I'm not actually following any "training plan" like a lot of people do because I find my schedule doesn't work for those plans (see above with crazy family life). Instead I'm mixing up speed / cadence runs with hill attacks and long trail runs on the weekend. I did a 15 mile road run 2 weekends ago as well just to see how I could do and ran around a 9:00min pace.

My goal is to run the full under a 10:00min pace, that being said -

I'm running the Full with my Pastor and he uses the 4/1 method on his runs, I am not training with the run / walk method, but i plan to use it for the Full. My hope is since I've been training with not stopping, the run / walk method will be that much more efficient for me and I'll be able to push really hard during my run segments. We will see
