Finally getting back to some consistent running after 2 years of injuries and rehab. Easy 6 miles today at 9:27 pace and 138 heart rate. Saucony Shift 3s have been a gamechanger for my achilles.

Ran a 10 mile race yesterday at 1:17 and change, around 7:45/mile. Overall pretty solid run for me coming off a disappointing half marathon last weekend. Once again my foot fell asleep on me at mile 5, decided to run through it and it came back around the 10k mark. Ran in NB Rebel V3, laced loose - I’m planning to see a PT but my suspicion now is that as the lactic acid builds in my calves, it’s pinching a nerve somewhere and causing the issue. As I start flushing lactic acid out it relieves the pressure and I’m back to normal. Purely speculative, I’m an accountant by trade so know jack shite about biology/human anatomy

Next half I run I’m going to focus on upping mileage on my long runs. For this 10 mile race I know I had aerobic fitness to give but could not muster the turnover from my legs. Also think I burned too much energy running into the wind for 5 miles. Should’ve slowed a bit then hammered down the second 5 with a tailwind. Learning as I go here.
