That was a frustrating game. LSU literally had an NFL offense that year, but it sputtered a lot. You can't blame the talent level. I remember a lot of fans were unhappy with Jimbo Fisher as OC that year. LSU smoked Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl and Jimbo was off to FSU. Les hired Gary Crowton as his replacement.

In fairness ot seemed like a good hire at the time and in fact worked out at first.
Crowton looked like Mike Leach when he was at LA Tech. In hindsight Tim Rattay had a LOT to do with that, but nonetheless it wasn't a bad hire on paper at the time.
