If you're going to play solo it's always better to play more defensive. The other team can't win if they can't score. This doesn't mean sit back in goal (That's actually a terrible way to defend) but always be ready to head back and abandon offensive possessions instead of pushing trying to squeak a goal in. You'll be shocked how many goals you can score by getting a hard clear out of your own goal towards their goal. That alone will carry you through gold into about Plat 2. Again, this is only if you're wanting to try your luck solo and seem to be playing with people equal to your skill level. If you're clearly better than everyone else in the game, dominate the ball and speed the game up. Play fast and learn to set yourself up with wall passes.

This is my biggest pet peeve. People that just chase the ball around. If I'm clearly on it, there is no reason for you to be right behind me. Get in a position so I can center it to you for a shot.
