Everyone that's been around the kid claims he possesses the "It factor." I have not heard any voice proclaiming concern over his ability.

Don't you believe that coaches know if a QB can make pre snap reads of the defence before they play the first game?
I remember when Hodson was a Red Shirt freshman. We had no experienced QB. When Arnsparger was asked about the QB position, he responed, "We are not worried about QB we have a QB. The first game was vs a ranked TA&M. Hodson dominated that game.
I suspect that was the big factor that made Burrow so much in demand by this staff. They have seen the guys in practice and know their weakness. They are not ready.
