I have to think that Starbucks and the hardcore environmentalist supporters actually want people to get worked up. It’s a form of virtue signaling.
Otherwise, why not say, “Starbucks to switch to biodegradable straws from existing plastic straws by 2020.”
People would react with a mild shrug, and that’s not good enough, not anywhere near good enough dammit!
