Just booked a FHR 5* hotel with a free night, $100 food or spa credit, premium room upgrade, free breakfast for 2, early checkin and late checkout. Paid with $ as I'm saving points. No hoops, and even before the free night the rate was cheaper than offered anywhere else including the hotel directly. Single purchase worth the $550.

What's the difference between Platinum and Gold benefits wise? I'm about to get a business credit card, do about 40k a year in expenses but that will probably double or triple in the next 2 years. Been using a debit card/ checks. I hate CC fees, but I was just scammed and it left me without a debit card for 7 days because of the dumbass bank. Time to play the points game too.

My problem is I don't really travel that much for business and my business is all local so little gas or expenses. So a majority of my purchases are materials, none of which are in a qualifying category.

i love FHR for a one night stay (quick weekend getaway)
