both of these were considered dominant though. They were considered in the conversation for best RBs in the league during their time. Gore, to my memory, was never considered this. He was always very good, but I don't remember people putting him into the conversation for one of the greats.

Bettis never led the league in rushing or TDs. He played 13 seasons and 9 of them averaged less than 4 yards per carry. He is your classic compiler.
Martin at least has a rushing title to his name and was a good pass catcher. Put up 1K plus every season but his last
Gore falls in between them IMO. Better than Bettis but not as good as Martin.
