Well, I'm sure it's department policy that they have to act (not talking about LVPD specifically) in certain situations. They can get fired from the dept for violating those policies/protocols/SOPs, but they can't be held legally responsible.

Well I wasn't necessarily replying to your comments, it was just easier to hit the reply button on the last post for me to make a general statement about the general direction this thread has taken.
