Hire based on merit. I was simply saying that most every family talks about work around their kids/relatives and that he body of knowledge a son a policeman enters the academy with is often greater than that of a first generation cadet.
Consider the jobs your parents had, and you know more about that job at age 18 than most other untrained kids your age did at that time.
