I’m fine with keeping Origi around if we don’t sign a true backup 9

I couldn't disagree more.

Origi was pretty good Klopp's first season until he got hurt. Klopp still hadn't implemented fully his "system" at that point either.

The next season, Origi was pretty bad and a fish out of water. He doesn't have the juice to press and defend like Klopp requires out of his forwards (mainly, I think, because he's too damned big). He's easily as much a cramp in Klopp's system on the pitch as Sturridge is.

We need another forward or wing (or two) that *fits*, not one that requires a change in formation and pace.

I don’t disagree he’s not the perfect fit for the system but in Klopp’s 2 years he had 5 goals and 7 goals respectively. I know that’s not great but Ings and Solanke combined for a grand total of 2 last year

Again, I know they do some of the little things and Solanke has more growing to do, but that’s why I want him to go out on loan and get regular moments while keeping a guy that’s still young that has actually put some balls in the back of the net.

And I know he’s not the long term solution but it just doesn’t look like we’re gonna buy anyone unless we get Fekir and maybe he works as a false 9 too?

Unfortunately there’s not many other Firmino’s out growing on trees that would offer everything he can for our system
