The first two acts are worthless. I don’t hate Rogue One, but if you were to miss the first 2/3 of the movie, I don’t think anyone would be remotely confused. Too much filler in it and the characters blow.
How much more interesting would it have been if Jyn’s father actually became evil like Walter White and had to defeat him personally to bring down the Empire? Like maybe when she stops the Hispanic guy from killing her father it leads to thousands dying? That would have made it much more interesting and the first two acts worthwhile. Would be a good place for a twist villain.
