It is entirely up to everyone not name Tom Dumoulin to attack. Courses don’t make the races riders do.
Outside of a 300m attack by Martin that was never going to work nobody even tried anything.
Valverde was close to losing touch otherwise you’d like to think he would have done something but he wouldn’t have.
Bardet and Nibali(who I always hear as a great descender but can’t think of any attacks he’s made on a descent) are the guys who have missed their opportunity.
Bardet especially as he needs to make around 7 minutes on Froome and can’t be choosy

I did hear some of the riders say that they wanted to attack but the headwind made them decide against it. They’ll wait because nobody wants to give up their place. Such sad shite...once Sky gets hold of the tour, it’s over. Get them on the defensive...and I’m talking about anyone that’s not Sky.

Everyone is worried about tomorrow's stage and Alp D'huez. With those stages looming I think that is why we saw the neutralization of today

I found this image on another site. It shows the times of the GC guys up the last climb this year compared to the last two times this climb was in the Tour. I, like everyone else, want to see attacks, but you can see why it's so difficult when Sky starts setting the pace up climbs.
