They say the hassle of driving 30 minutes round-trip to other cities for groceries puts wear and tear on their cars and uses a lot of gas.
That is not very far.
I mean, it's good that they got a grocery store that will be even closer for the residents... but there are many people who live in places where they have to drive a LONG way into town to get groceries.

The city has been named a “food desert” by the USDA, meaning people there didn't have access to quality, affordable fresh food.
