quote:Yes, thanks to demographics and the existence of television and automobiles.
Do you all really believe a small Southern state can produce a team like Alabama every year?
quote:Yes everyone used to have unlimited scholarships, now everyone has a limit. It's so much more equal.
I don't think you all realize how much the 85 scholarship era has led to much more parity in college football. You can't have 110 young men on scholarship anymore.
quote:Are the Nick Sabans spread equally? You made no mention of the people involved with the programs? Bama is run absolutely by a highly skilled and driven dictator. Texas is run by a gaggle of incompetent loose money boosters. Honestly Texas is probably dirtier than Alabama right now
The tv revenue is spread more equally especially in conferences like the SEC, Big Ten and ACC.

Saban has the bama boosters and influence-peddlers in line. It's his way or the highway. See how bama was previously with people putting money in for recruits and then arguing about them getting playing time and trying to go around the coach.
Texas has the same problem, except their boosters have a lot more money and are used to a lot more influence -- AND they all think they know football.
Also, once Texas gets 1-2 losses their fans bail on them.
Bottom line, uTexas needs a strong leader who will get everyone in line, but I doubt they get that. They may be beyond the past of being able to get that.
