I'm conflicted on this show. I despise Kelly Reilly and her character. She's supposed to be 34, looks 54, and acts 14. The first couple episodes, I honestly thought she was Costner's mistress or something because she looks so similar in age.
Thw whole "ranch mafia" stuff also comes across as very cheesy, especially the "branded man" stuff. Costner is also not great in this, but the Kasey actor is good plus the addition of Ryan Bingham was top notch.
That guitar scene was spectacular.
I also don't understand the Jimmy stuff. He's obviously in pain and hates his life.
The Indian actors are very good though and I like them more and more each week, especially the Thomas actor who was in Hell or High Water.
I'll still watch the show for the scenery and because of Sheridan, but I really feel this film should have been set in the 1880s and not present day, that way all the killing and stuff makes more sense.
Nobody now is going to do that stuff for $400 bucks a week now and no party lifestyle like mafia/crime guys have.
