The standard of life in the US is far superior than that of most of the World; especially that of the collapsing Nations of South America and Mexico. Given the charitable Government Subsidies for poor people who crash our Border, 80% of the World's poor would like to come here.

So, the real issue is...how many poor, unemployable and Socialist-voting people do we allow? The Dems want those poor for their votes, and to further their "fundamental change"/Global Authoritarian Socialist Ideology. And in service to that (supposedly moral) End, they will utterly destroy the relative affluence and security of our own Nation.

The Good Lord said that "the poor will be with you ALWAYS"; "babys and toddlers" at the fore. The alternative is "Animal Farm", where we totally assume Top Down control of people's freedom, to choose beliefs and actions which create poverty. The very freedom to pro-create, if one's progeny are destined to be poor and afflicted. In (moral) essence, it is immoral/irresponsible/malfeasant for any *Government/Ideology* to allow poor/ignorant individuals to bring children into the World when such an act guarantees the suffering of said children.

As you can see, rational/moral examination gets very problematic, very quick. Jesus was right. The poor will indeed be with us "always"; and the dynamic of poor vs. prosperous will always carry the consequence of the 'Cain and Abel' scenario of Envy-based conflict.

Life - in the Physical Realm - is and always will be bittersweet, and essentially paradoxical, per the relative goodness of the Act of Creation (assuming God). The Opposite of any perceived Feeling or Thing, will necessarily (necessary evil) affect the whole. Knowledge can not change this; but it can change the Perceptive Experience (Subjective/Spiritual Reality) of those who enjoy the power of said Knowledge. "Ye shall know the Truth, and it shall set you free". Free from doubt, but not free from vicariously experiencing the suffering of the Brethren who are without.

You are right to bear the burden of "a soft spot".
