The opportunity is really in Sarasota. I mentioned tampa because that is the largest city in the area. Schools and family life/QOL is important. Anyone familiar with that area?

Lakewood Ranch is between Sarasota and Tampa. Good schools, neighborhoods, easily accessible from I75. Beaches are close. We also have fresh water springs that are wonderful for kayaking and even a warm mineral spring near Sarasota. Floridians as a whole are pretty healthy, lots of bike and hiking trails. Out of Door Academy is in Lakewood Ranch.

During the season, traffic is horrid on I75 between Sarasota and Tampa. Mostly old folks and European tourist during the season in Sarasota proper. Check out St. Armand's circle and Longboat key. That will give you a taste of the money in Sarasota.

Sarasota proper used to also be known as winter quarters for the circus folks. A lot of them are still in the area, even with Ringling closing.

I had some friends that lived in Bradenton. Bradenton is a few miles north of Venice. They lived on some canals that led into the Little Manatee river. I used to go down and go fishing with them and loved it. I hated when they moved.

Plan to buy a boat or some Wave Runners. You will want them.
