I saw them in high school back in '03 when I was a big fan. Saw them again in 2016 and admittedly didn't keep up with them as much. The show in '03 was great. Carter Beauford is in a short list of drummers in my mind and really showed it in that '03 show. We left early for the '16 show. It was just boring and the barely touched all the stuff from when I listened a lot.

My wife now works for the same venue I saw both of those shows (DMB plays pretty much every year) and she said it's common knowledge around the office the excitement around the show went downhill at some point. But, apparently this year, they kicked it back up and it's much better.

Yeah we saw them in ‘06 & ‘07 both with Butch Taylor and it was awesome. I think the show got stale for sure, especially when they started doing an acoustic set and a regular set. Add in they hadn’t done a studio album in 7 years.

New material + new musician has popped it up quite a bit.
