Any tips for starting one?
I have a strong history of getting published as a writer in both creative and academic contexts (not to mention my award winning TD posts), but in all seriousness, I've been itching to find a way to get back into it. I'm a good cook with high quality photo and video equipment, so food blogging seems like the easiest choice. However, that's such a saturated market that I'm sure I'd get burned out on it quickly.

Start it up and you should get a great amount of follows from the F/D board. Although there will be the occasional dick critique, I think most criticism would be constructive and if the food looks good, you will get a fair amount of praise. Don't even think about posting it on the OT!!

One thing to keep in mind when trying to build a following is frequent, new, original content. I feel that is where most people end up dropping off. They create a post once in a blue moon, don't get the traction they were hoping for and stop creating content. Also, you're going to want to brush up on SEO and social media marketing if you wanted to really build the following, but perhaps you have that experience already. It isn't too difficult - I'd say creating original content is the hardest part. Good luck!

What's your line of work? If it's anything remotely technical, and/or if it involves solving problems, blog about that.
