I'm planning on taking the full week off of work before Labor Day and travel internationally but having a hard time coming up with a good destination for late August. I would have ~9 days to travel.

Initial thoughts were SE Asia or some islands in the Carribean but I'm concerned with the wet/hurricane season. Right now my back up plan is to fly Canada and travel south down the west coast but ideally I'd prefer to hit up something more exotic or outside North America.

Anyone have any international recs for late August travel?

So you're looking at about 10 days of travel, right?

If that's the case I would rule out SE Asia simply because that's a really, really far distance to travel for that amount of time.

Why not somewhere in Europe?

European airfares are at peak prices that time of year. How about Montreal? Nice weather, enough Francophones to make you feel like you went somewhere different....
