That's because people quit discussing politics and policies and just went straight to attacking people's random characteristics, personal traits, and stereotypes. The state of political discourse in this country is sickening and disheartening. I have an extremely liberal friend. Every time I try to discuss beliefs and ideas with him and try to find some common ground or get at why he supports the things he does it always ends up with him getting quickly and violently angry and declaring me racist or misogynistic or whatever and me just quitting the conversation.
