Yeah, my father might as well live at that location.
At least there's a location nearby. A while back when you had to go to New Orleans, there would be times my dad would take an hour to go there only for them to say they messed up a schedule or didn't have the cortisone shots he was supposed to get.
From what my parents tell me from their experiences, the a-hole employees are usually the administrative and clerical staff. The medical staff are usually professional.
eta: in the Hammond clinic my folks say they're all very nice.

For what it's worth the medical staff aren't treated particularly well either. While there are exceptions there is a significant percentage of support staff who are either incompetent or DGAF or both. The medical staff generally does a good job with one hand tied behind their backs.
I have really never seen a veteran openly treated with disrespect though. I have seen vets who are extremely difficult to deal with.
