There's a reason why every comprehensive stat to measure a player's ability has LeBron significantly ahead of Kobe.
There's a better argument Kobe isn't top ten all time than there is that he's top two. LeBron's career PER is 27.7. Kobe's is 22.9. That is a yawning gap.
Tim Duncan's career PER is 24.2, which is decently higher than Kobe. That says a lot about where Kobe falls.
