This is for the Oregon state fan who told me his registered sex offense doesn’t show on background checks.

They found out about it doing a background check.

Heimlich, the Pac-12 pitcher of the year, was 15 when the crime occurred at his family’s home in Puyallup, Washington. He joined the Oregon State baseball program in the fall of 2014 and registered as a sex offender in Benton County.

The Oregonian reported that Heimlich was cited in April for failing to complete a required registration update, putting his case into Oregon court records for the first time. Washington state classified Heimlich as a low-risk offender. The Oregonian came across the information during a routine background check as the paper was preparing a profile on Heimlich.
