I would rather save Beck and Sanders if the goal is to win the regional. I understand that if we lose against Northwestern then we go home but isn’t that essentially what we are conceding by throwing our best reliever against Northwestern. Can you imagine what Osu would do to Kudros, Moffitt , or Reese.
So now we win today , and hope that Beck can go 8 innings against Osu ??
Who pitched the final 2? If we win that then you have to expect the same result from Peterson and then who in the hell relieves him?
Dumb move imo

Our best reliever now is Todd Peterson.

Nah, probably 4 or 5, then all staff after that including Bain, Peterson and Fontenot.

No, the goal on Friday was to win the regional by throwing Bush and saving Hess for OSU in the marble game. Well, Hess (and the bats) shite the bed, so now the goal is to survive and advance and then figure it out from there. This is the philosophy of every coach in this type of bracket and it is the correct one.

It is a dumb move. Beck has already proven he can beat NSU. Then you save Sanders against OSU. LSU should not have to waste their best pitcher available to beat a team from the Southland conference that barely got in the tournament.

He pitched 3 innings in the NWSt game and he threw 54 pitches in those 3 innings, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he hit a batter.

I was at that game. His start was a nightmare with him living on the edge the entire 3 innings.

And you believe that means he's proven he can beat them??

You truly are an idiot.

Ok so if that’s the plan then who do you start against Osu in game 2?

We have to throw our best available pitcher. Northwestern has the bats to beat us and this will not be an easy game.

If somehow we can manage to win today---twice--do you think CPM will let Hillard pitch tomorrow?? Might he let him pitch a few innings in a second game to day if we make it that far?

If we have made it to game 2 against OSU..does it really matter? I’ll take our chances with PeeWee Herman pitching

When you're up to your arse in alligators it's not the time to think about how to drain the swamp.

But to answer your question, it may have to be Bush for 2 or 3 innings on 2 days rest and then all staff takes over from there. Hell, Cabrera may have to throw for an inning.

Bwahahahaha!!! Sound thinking right there! Look I’m not down on the Tigers regardless of what happens , but if the goal is to win the regional then you don’t throw Sanders or Peterson against this team. You have to plan ahead and not “figure it out from there.”

No, the goal is still to win the regional. If Beck can’t beat Northwestern then he sure as hell wasnt going to be OSU. You’re best chance to win the regional is to go

Beck vs NWST
Sanders vs OSU
Bain vs OSU

If that’s the plan then they might as well get on the plane home now. Osu would score 25 runs on any of those other guys and Bush on 2 days rest is just dumb
