kobe steak in japan is "only" around 300 bucks.

The best restaurants in the world usually hover around $300 per head for a tasting menu without specialty upcharges and wine pairings. If someone manages to run up a meal tab above $1k per head, they've likely done something tremendously stupid, and I say that as someone who takes their food and drink rather seriously.

i don't take my food and drink seriously at all. i had a kobe steak because i was in japan. figured why not.

my favorite meal is me grilling my own ny strip or ribeye and drinking abita amber.

i actually hate going out to eat, but i can appreciate a good meal. just not on of my things.
