We just need to keep these QBs and let them know that you can't play as a freshman in this league unless you're a once in a lifetime type of QB. It just doesn't happen that often.

This mindset needs to be broken by the coaching staff at LSU. Did you not watch the National Championship game last year? Two SEC teams battled it out with true freshman at QB. Hurts also made the title game the year before as well. Did Alabama just happen to have two once in a lifetime QBs in back to back classes, or do these coaches know what they are doing when it comes to QBs?

I'm not saying every QB should come in and play as a freshman, but we shouldn't need guys to be here for 3 years before they can contribute. That's antiquated in today's college football environment.

That's fine but LSU doesn't seem to be able to land any of these types of QBs. So that's what you want? A freshman QB coming play big time college football at LSU every year?

Yea good luck with that. No we need to keep these guys around to play their one or two years, then off to the NFL. That is what works. Ask any coach or GM if they prefer a guy who's been in thier system for a few years or if they would prefer an 17/18 year old freshman AA 5* Mr. can do anything to come in and run this team full of 21 year old men.

That takes a very special individual and Saban nor Dabo did that overnight. It took them playing the veteran guys to start winning and to catch the eye of that special individual. This just doesn't happen with a snap of the fingers. Right now we need the guys who will come in and wait their turn.

This is the mindset that we need not change. LSU has been playing the young guys and that's worked out so well when we have right?
