According to Jefferson, as taken from Locke, human beings are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights.

Because they come from Nature, as Aristotle argued.

The Founders didn't invent the idea of natural rights, they were inspired - as the rest of the Western world was - by the Greeks.
