Yes, Lincoln authorized its use on certain coins at the urging of Pennsylvania pastor to symbolize that God favored the Union during the Civil War. He got the idea from Canada who used it on a Coat of Arms. We then used it on paper currency in the 1950s in an effort to declare that God was on our side in the Cold War. Florida has officially adopted it as its state motto.

So under PT logic, God favors:

Canada over other countries, the North of the U.S. over the South of U.S., the Western World over Communism, and Florida over all other states.
