Exactly. The prognosticators would have loved it if we made the same trade to get a QB that is not going to be ready for at least 2 years and is well know to be a huge project as a passer.

I find it hilarious that all the talking heads on ESPN were shocked we didn't trade up for Jackson when he would have been there for us regardless at 27 So I guess they would have rather the Saints use two first rounders to move up for a guy who would have fell to us anyways

And he would have not have seen the field for at least 2 years. It is absolutely ridiculous to listen to the criticism that the Saint are getting for this pick.

The Saints are in win now mode: So they should have picked a project QB that won't help them win now.

The Saints took a raw DE with tremendous upside: So they should have taken an even more raw QB prospect whose biggest knock is he needs A LOT of work to develop as an NFL passes.

The Saints gave up too much for Davenport: So the Saints should have made the same trade to take a more risky player.

WTF is wrong with people? Sure Davenport is a risky pick. So was Lattimore. So was Kamara. So was Ramczyk.

But you can't tell me that Jackson was less risky, more developed at his position, and in a better position to help the team win now than Davenport.
