Exactly. The prognosticators would have loved it if we made the same trade to get a QB that is not going to be ready for at least 2 years and is well know to be a huge project as a passer.

If people hate the Davenport pick because he is not a polished DE, then how is it that they would have loved Jackson with the same trade/pick?

This is just another example of the media pushing agendas over logic. What is frustrating is the flow of parrots that show up every draft to repeat anything "negative" that is said about each Saints pick.

He is 6'6 265 and ran a 4.5 40. Holy shite is he a freak athlete. There is one clip where he peals off his pass rush to cover a RB on a wheel route and broke up the pass. I don't know if everyone understands the level of absolutely freakish ability required to make that play.

How long have Saints fan been clamoring for a stud DE to pair with Jordan? We finally get one and because the talking heads wanted to see Jackson link up with one of the best offenses in the league, people bitch.

The dude is a stud that has room to get better. His upside is off the charts good.

All week, and even this morning, I've seen multiple player comparisons from the same prognosticators equate him to Ziggy Ansah, Aldon Smith without the baggage, Jadeveon Clowney, and Demarcus Ware.

How they (and the fans listening to them) can poo-poo the selection now is mind-boggling asinine.

I find it hilarious that all the talking heads on ESPN were shocked we didn't trade up for Jackson when he would have been there for us regardless at 27 So I guess they would have rather the Saints use two first rounders to move up for a guy who would have fell to us anyways
