If you are a technical person looking to get into technical type sales, dont go selling cars and expect that to carry over. Look for a place where you can work as sales support for a few years and get your experience that way. You'll basically be a salesmans bitch and his fall guy for a few years, make good money doing it, and be gaining invaluable sales experience learning the ins and outs of working big deals. That's assuming you're good enough at the job to be trusted and to get involved.

Nobody goes from selling cars straight to selling CO2 compressors.
