Volunteers are a critical part of non-profits. For instance, I did work for a non-profit. They were paying someone $175/hr to do the same work. I did in the neighborhood of 40 hours of work for them. My donation of time was like a $7,000 savings for them.

Furthermore, I actually showed where the consulting firm was ripping them off, and saved them more $$.
