Care to name how many other coaches have won more than one since Mainieri got to LSU?.
Care to name the programs with the resources to win championships like we have at LSU?
He underachieves pretty regularly in the postseason. That’s not on the players. Great coaches get the most out of their players when it matters most. PM’s teams do not play their best when it matters most. On the contrary they typically choke when it matters most.

Let's see...how about every other school in the SEC, almost all in the ACC, majority of the Big XII, most of the Pac 12. Hell, even schools like Houston has the resources to compete at a championship level. Anyone who follows college baseball knows that resources are not near the hinderance to most schools like they were just 2 decades ago.
And as for underachieving, again, I'll ask for you to name the coaches who have consistently overachieved, or better yet, got what they should out of their talent? I think most would say that Kevin O'Sullivan is a great coach. How many times did he fail to get the most out of his players before finally cracking through last year? What about Tim Corbin? He was the hot "new" coach when he started turning Vandy into a consistent winner and after he finally won his natty, many said he should have won the next year to get back-to-back, but he fell short and hasn't done near what he should have with his talent last 2 seasons. But yet, many would gladly take him here at LSU to coach. Or maybe Pat Casey is more your style. You know, the one I named earlier who has won 2 championships, with his last being in 2007 (oh the shame of it all). Many felt even with losing his best pitcher before CWS last year that he still had the best team coming in and should win it all. And I mean, he has 2 natty's, so surely he knows how to get his players to "achieve" or "get the most out of his players." But that was before he ran into that hobo of a coach Mainieri and his LSU Tigers. But I guess in that situation, it was the LSU players just executing and the coach really didn't have anything to do with it, right?
