If that hotline reports any overload conditions where they can show calls not being able to get through, regardless of what the calls were about - they have cause to fire her. That said, I believe they now have cause to fire her just for giving out that number, under those circumstances. That's a pretty malicious thing to do and there will be clauses in her contract about conduct, naturally.

If it's shown somehow that someone in need of help could not get through, then they MUST fire her.

From their New Faculty Survival Guide
"While you may engage in political activity, you must do it on your own time, not on state time or state expense. When you speak or act in your capacity as private citizen or enter into private business arrangements, you must distinguish these activities from your university obligations and make clear that you are acting outside your university employment. "

The Cal state system probably has a compendium of more detailed guidelines for faculty. Looks like she's crossed a line for sure.

I don’t think she crossed it, I think she stopped and took a shite on it.

Saying inflammatory shite may not get her fired.

Basically dating her boss to fire her raises the chances.

Ratfricking a crisis hotline at a different school in another state probably does it.
