I lived there a while back, so I can't speak to how it is now. When I was there it was a blast. There is a ton of things to do, it just depends on how good your Spanish is and how long you will be there.

If you are into history Teotihuacán was a great trip. You can find several tour groups that can take you out there. They have tour buses that travel around the major points and you can hop on and off as you please.

Polanco and La Condesa are two great areas to hang out in.

Again, it is dependent on how long you will be there as to what you can do.
