I can't imagine too many grad transfer forwards with one year left will be THAT high on LSU. Not becuase of the program or Wade. In fact, far from it. But because the frontcourt will be (happily) crowded this season with talent too good to keep off the court. KBW didn't sit out a year just to be a reserve this season. He's going to start at the 5 and try to be the Tyrus Thomas type defender/rebounder LSU needed last season. Reid is a projected one-and-done. Wade is going to get the most out of him at the 4 spot (with some time at 5 as well). Emmitt Williams is going to be too good and to aggressive to keep off the court. He may not always start, but he is going to play...a lot. Then you have a guy like Rachal who was arguably LSU's best defender last season and has shown he can rebound at 6'5". His defensive effort will get him minutes.

Most grad transfers are looking to maximize their last year. I just don't know if LSU is the place for them this season with so much (presumed) talent on the roster. White would have been a nice get because he is a 2 year player. At this point in the game though, Wade might have the luxury of looking towards 19-20, when he will almost assuredly need to fill some big spots on the roster. A couple of good "sit-out" transfers may be a better use of the scholarships.

I agree with all of this that you said, which is why it kind of sucked not getting White since he could have used this as a development year and then have a big role in 19-20.

As far as sit guys, are there any names out there? Someone threw out the FSU center that is looking to transfer. Seems to be some potential there and would be a sit out guy for this season. Anyone know if Wade and crew are on him any?
