Wrong, they're just trying to appeal to the massive market of mixed racial couples!
Marketing is not always, in fact rarely for an established company, trying to appeal to the largest demographic. Many products and services have high customer retention rates (beer and cigarettes are the two highest) so once you have a customer you tend to keep them, customers tend to be loyal. Advertising often is targeting the fast-growing demographics. Mixed race individuals is a fast-growing demographic. 40 or so years ago only 1% of babies born in the US were multi-racial, now it is over 10%. One has to keep in mind that multi-racial spreads out through the generations so the projected growth rate is significant.
