So is President Trump supposed to wait for a Congressional vote when Russia or North Korea launches nuclear weapons at us? We have 2,000 troops in Syria. Maybe he was trying to protect those troops from a possible chemical attack.

President’s the Commander in Chief for a reason, Congress doesn’t consist of generals and military people, WTH do they know about leading the armed forces? Common sense, everybody

No. The War Powers Act says the executive branch should seek Congress's approval unless there is believed to be imminent threat to America. In your scenario, if nuclear weapons were being launched at us, he would not need Congress's approval to respond.
