Should I put all $4000 into VTI? Or diversify by starting with $3000 and then looking somewhere else for the additional $1000?

I can't answer this question for you unfortunately. If you are the type that will get squeamish, I suggest buying 1/2 shares a month or something like that.

If you know for a fact you aren't going to touch it until you are 65 or whatever, put it all in.

The only other ETFs someone like you should probably even consider are VXUS and BND. And VXUS should probably be approx. 20% to 40% of your stock allocation.

I don’t get squeamish and don’t see any way I’ll retire before 65 considering my life’s path thus far.

I’ll start safe though with VTI.
