My first Cure concert was at the Southern Star Amphitheater at Astroworld in 1986. It will always be my all time favorite concert. For $13.50 you got into Astroworld and the concert. Astroworld was filled with goth...very cool. We were x-ing our brains out that day.

Drove in at 5:00am from Baton Rouge. Hooked up with some friends in Houston and then hit Astroworld all day. We were riding Greezed Lightning when the Cure came up to ride it. A bunch of security came up prior to them and we thought they were coming for us. Then, out of nowhere the Cure pops up. They rode it a couple of times (Robert Smith had short hair at this time.) We then hit the concert and, wow, what a show. It was hot, the women were almost naked in the crowd, EVERYONE was partying and the music was dead on for 3 hours. What a day!
