I mean think about the Tudors.

King Henry VIII, reasons be damned, his departure from the Catholic church is one of the most influential decisions in the Western world.

Then you have Bloody Mary

And then Elizabeth I who was in charge when the British smacked around the Spanish Armada and allowed Britain to stay out of Catholic hands.
