Protesting is about bringing awareness to something that isn’t getting attention. Guess what? He and Colin DEFINITELY accomplished that

I'd bet if you went and asked a group of random people what Eric Reid and Colin kaepernick were protesting by kneeling during the national anthem, more than half would say the national anthem/flag.

So you're sure they were successful in bringing awareness?

Proportionally, I would say no, and kudos to all the dolts who hurrdurred their way into misdirecting their thoughts to "they hate America and the military".

Gross numbers? Yes, they were successful. You still having to distract their thoughts (even if I don't agree with it) with ad hominems is demonstrative of them still having success at it.

So...

If 0 people were aware originally, based on how you posed this question, but now 50% are aware in which the maximum percentage that could be aware is 100% you are questioning whether or not how successful he was?
