Depends on the player. If the sole goal in their life at this time is to play in the NFL I think the ring matters quite a bit. Right up there with how many freshmen and upperclassmen OL he has coached to All-American status and how many players he has gotten to the pros. Which I believe were also covered by Kenyon in the link I provided earlier. I know the guys to the NFL were.

I'm not following how a SB ring is a testament to a coach's ability to get someone to the NFL.

Try to follow along here.

Recruit wants to play in NFL.

Has a coach he can play for at his position that coached in the NFL. Player has to wonder if a guy who coached at the highest level in football can possibly get him there.

Has to think that not only did he coach in the NFL but he was a good enough coach to be able to coach in the super bowl. Has to wonder if the offensive line had anything at all to do with the team getting to the super bowl. He's not a Rantard so yes he knows the O-line had to have something to do with it.

Has to wonder if the NFL guy who coached for a team who won the super bowl is better to play for than a coach who has done neither.

His decision.
