CuseTiger-I need some advice on a Nola to Vancouver BC flight.

I am flying with Mrs Pimp to Vancouver in June. The flight arrangements on United are already booked and paid by a third party. I have decided after the fact that I would like to fly two of my minor children up as our business concludes on the 19th and stay an additional week, the four of us leaving together on the 26th.
I would fly them in on a Tuesday the 19th and meet them at the airport. I would obviously want them to fly out with us on the same flight on the 26th. Round trip for two looks like it is $2200. There may also be a $150 per child minor fee on top of that.
What kind of fare reduction might I expect as the flight gets closer? And Ideally, what would be the best time PRICE -WISE to book these flights? 3/ 4 weeks out?

My bad for not explaining better. I'm flying United. I went them on my return flight from Vancouver to New Orleans.
Edit-Looks like I should book two one way tickets. One cheap one to Vancouver on any random airline. One return flight on same flight as us.

Sorry I've been busy at work, apartment hunting, etc. How old are the kiddos? May be able to get away avoiding the minor fee. Have a look at this chart showing the different airline fees for different age ranges. LINK Alaska and Southwest have reasonable fees compared to American or United.
As you said in your second post, two one-ways is definitely your best bet. $238 to leave on Tuesday afternoon with a 2 1/2 hr connection in Chicago on American for $238. AA flights
As far as prices going down, in theory they should. But...you are flying peak summer season to Vancouver so I wouldn't exactly expect them to get much better.
For your flights on the way back, just book them on one reservation then when you check in say you're flying with them so you're not paying the fee. I'd suggest calling United once this nor'easter shite winds down and booking over the phone to explain the situation. Not sure which flight you're on but here's the link showing all the pricing for the one-way flight back on the 26th LINK
Hope this helps

You are the man . That’s what I’ll do . It will still be expensive, but since my wife and I are flying free it’s still sensible . I think you are right about peak season in Vancouver.
